About Hialeah

The City of Hialeah is the sixth largest municipality in Florida, serving over 224,000 residents living in around 20-square miles.

In the county you’re about 20 minutes away from everywhere in Hialeah. Hialeah borders Opa Locka, Miami and Miami Lakes and offers direct company accessibility to both Opa-Locka Airport and Miami International Airport. Hialeah is served by the Miami Metrorail and Tri Rail/Metrorail Transfer stations. The City also provides its own transit buses that improve transportation services City wide to make it simpler for residents to commute.

The City of Hialeah is a complete service city. Services include Public Works, Fire, Water & Sewer, and Police. The City has a long history of supplying these services; all of which are of a great quality and are in quite high demand.

A multitude of recreation and education programs to residents are low cost or free. Residents have access to five branch libraries and a library system with one Main; an Education and Community Services Department with after-school camp and programs, and Hialeah Reads!, a citywide literacy initiative. Four adult centres with a daily lunch program provide a broad selection of places¬†of interest for seniors. Adults with developmental disabilities may take part in the City’s adult therapeutic recreation center and day plan. The Recreation and Parks Department has 15 fully-staffed parks, 7 pools, 2 tennis facilities, sport leagues, a cultural arts theatre, and an Early Prevention & Intervention program for youth.

The City provides an extensive range of complimentary cultural activities, plans and events which appeal to the various backgrounds of its residents, enriching community life in Hialeah. The Artwork on the Independence Day Party, Eggstravaganza, Palm Festival and Santa’s Snowblast are just a small number of the annual city wide events that Hialeah families enjoy.

Hialeah’s vibrant community is viewed. A multitude of mom and pop stores which franchises and compete against national retail and restaurant chains drive the market with many types of opportunities for employment in Hialeah from professional to service industry occupations.
